I am now living at my childhood home on Second Ave. in Grandview. I am a legal secretary at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease law firm. I have six children and nine grandchildren. My life has been enriched by raising my children and watching them to continue to grow in knowledge and spirit. I have grown, too, through life experiences and new friendships. These are some things we have to keep in our minds and hearts - like a best friend that has moved away or a classmate we grew up with - there are just some things that make me smile.
I have many special memories of Grandview. Of course, my friends are a big part of my memories. I remember the soap box derby, the annual ox roast, cheerleading, school days, the annual Memorial Day parade, the annual bicycle race, Lazy Daze, the painting of windows on Halloween and street dances, the annual band cake walk and the Talent Show.
Traditions are comforting. They remind us that we are a part of something bigger than ourselves. They remind us that we belong. They remind us that coming back to something familiar gives us a sense of security.

Once again, it's great to celebrate our youth and to see old friends with whom we shared our hopes and dreams. Mardelle, Margaret and I are enjoying seeing Grandview Avenue come alive--we love to browse. I have six children and seven grandchildren. They are my joy! Life has been good and I thank God for the confidence, determination and courage to meet the challenges that lie ahead.
